Saccharomyces eubayanus
S. eubayanus strains were initially isolated in Patagonia (Argentina) from a southern beech (Nothofagus spp.) tree and since then it has been isolated in New Zealand, North America and East Asia. Yeasts are key industrial microbes, most notably Saccharomyces species, which is used to make different products, like bread, wine, and lager-style beers. Saccharomyces eubayanus is one of the species most used in lager brewing.
