Alloscardovia omnicolens
Alloscardovia omnicolens is a normal inhabitant of the gastrointestinal tract and a close relative of the Bifidobacterium genus. It has been isolated from a number of human samples, but most prominently from urine and saliva. Since it is difficult to identify A. omnicolens with culture methods, its clinical relevance is still uncertain. There are reports of rare cases that associate A. omnicolens to urinary tract or pulmonary infections in elderly people, and those with reduced immune function.
