Lactobacillus jensenii_A
Lactobacillus jensenii is not typically found in the gut microbiome, but it is one the most widespread species across vaginal microflora and a predominant member urinal microbiome of healthy women. It may help to maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the vagina, and has been shown to be protective against microbial infection. L. jensenii can produce hydrogen peroxide, which has an anti-infective effect, and it is known to show a strong ability to form biofilms. L. jensenii is rarely found in human feces and almost disappears in individuals with IgA defects.
