Aspergillus flavus
A. flavus infects seed crops like maize, peanut, wheat, and cottonseed and contaminates them by producing the world's most powerful natural carcinogen, called aflatoxin. In animals or humans eating these seeds or inhaling the spores it is then able to cause disease both through direct infection (causing aspergillosis) or the effects of aflatoxin (causing aflatoxicosis, or liver cancer).
